Some very basic hair styles that are easy to learn and do.  Using different parting patterns you can easily create interesting and fun variations using any of these simple styles.  Beads and snaps add color and fun!  CHECK OUT THE NEW VIDEO  - YARN BRAID EXTENSIONS!

Basic Videos

Video 1: Twists with Beads and Snaps
A basic hair do with beads and snaps.  Easy to do, lots of variations - little
skill required!  Very cute!

This video also shows how to use the beader, and snaps.

*My model was not so patient - so I will post pics of final products some day.

Video 2: Box Braids with Beads and Snaps

Another easy style with lots of variations.

This video also shows how to use the beader and snaps.

Video 3: Coils
An easy style that needs no special tools or accessories.  Although the coil comb does save your fingers and wrists.

Video 4: The Flat Twist
Warning - this is a bad video - I will redo it when I get time but that doesn't look like anytime soon -so am posting this for now.  A couple of notes:  I am not hurting Tenaye - this was the last thing we taped, and I ran out of Craisins for her :)

I would also typically use a comb - but for some reason didn't in the video.  I sort of use it backwards - I grab the hair that I am adding with my fingers, then use the tail of the comb to pull away the hair that I don't want to add. This way I seem to be able to more easily add smaller sections of hair with each twist.
Video 5: Corn Rows

*Thanks to Lana Lee for allowing me to video her doing her daughters hair.

Pictures of Finished Styles

Finished Style 1 - Box Braids
Simple Box Braid Style with Triangle Parts, finished off with Bow beads and daisy snaps.  I am told it works better if you plan your parting pattern in advance - I never seem to do that - so it's a bit off.

Finished Style 2 - Twists with Beads
Simple Twists Filled with beads.  Using 3 beaders and my son refilling them for me we completed this style start to finish in 20 mins.  Will look great for over a week.

Finished Style 3 - Coils

Lots of small coils made with the Coil Comb.
